Honda updates CR-V with class-leading new diesel powertrain

Honda’s new 2015 CR-V will be unique to Europe and replaces the 2.2-litre i-DTEC diesel unit. Assisted by a new two-stage turbo, it offers higher power output and better power delivery, as well as superior levels of efficiency and significantly reduced CO2 emissions.

Variable Geometry Turbochargers

Developed in 1951, the variable geometry turbocharger contributed a responsiveness that boosted diesels’ performance and efficiency.

Turbocharging has long been used to improve performance in both commercial and passenger vehicle applications, but increasing control of boosting systems has remained a concern.
